U-God's Resume #52, "To The Rescue"

--Official Stats--
Artist: Leatha Face and U-God
Song: "To The Rescue"
Producer: True Master
Album: Wu-Chronicles, Chapter 2
Release Date: July 3, 2001

Hahah! What is this shit? I've never heard this crap before. Listen: I know this song will be shit based on the quality of the album cover. That, and it's a Leatha Face song (a/k/a Leatha Fase). A Wu-Lackey who is known for appearing on other U-God songs and not holding up to rhyme competition.

Also, it's on "Wu-Chronicles 2", and while the first Wu Chronicles album was a collection of odd one-off Wu songs gathered together in one place, this one was...uh, the same I guess, but I wasn't interested in any of these songs. Are these songs good? I don't know!

So let's go and find out if this song is good. If you want to...

"To The Rescue"

Hahaha! See. Garbage. Do I even have to review this? That beat is a mess. It sounds like crap. A cat walking across a piano. That's the bad news. The OTHER bad news is that Lethaface is terrible on this beat. What kind of rapping is that? Not good rapping! Now for the good news: U-God sounds really good compared to everything else here. But that's like finding the best thing a dumpster: it's still garbage.

U-God has a total of two good lines, but he spits like a hundred lines, so 2% good. That's not enough, but it's better than Leathaface (0%) and whoever produced this (True Masta).

L. Face

Track Score: 1/10
U-God’s Score: 2/10
Impact on Rep (+,-,=): None. Not one single person has ever heard this song.

Next Week: We skip U's other contribution on Chronicles 2, "Rumble" becasue we already reviewed it. So we get to move on to the best of the best, KILLARMY and their song "Militant".

About this series: “U-God’s Resume" is a series of posts which looks at each line of U-God’s entire career to determine if his status as ‘wack’ is justified (as labeled by internet morons). I think it is not. U-God is dope. We'll prove it. Leave it to the Tort Team.

Lyrics (I didn't proof this crap):

Yo, yo, yo, yo
Vendetta inside, swiftly start stabbin
One second to meltdown, feel the twin cannons
Burn, handgun herns, standin firm
Return from mega-death, I'll tell you what's left
Dilemma, Earth tremor, up by man
With the Grand Canyon rap, U dynamic wingspan
The Power from the Clan, yo, is more than fantastic
Pull pins out the hazard, on this Battlestar Galactic'
Skull tactic, sporatic, Asiatic, long awaited
Son of Sam, mention the mic mutated
You hated us, cuz we immortal on wax
Rip the China White shit, flip a dynamite ax
Shillac em perhaps, the heart pump an anti-toxin
Feed me the Power, meteor shower when I'm boxin
[Chorus:]
Professional vets, now comin through vexed
I'm testin you vets, what you claimin that you best?
The S on your chest, better stand for Super-stress
And Leatha Face pressed, next, here to set you
REC! I suggest niggas come To the Rescue
[Leatha Face's verse]
[Chorus]

Slash hope, raw burnin, freezin thoughts are cold
Ballistic missle lift off, now one behold
My throat harden for Harlem, harness the volume
With grief fallin on me in a breeze, the seas partin
It's two men awesome, uncanny
The handy man crook, the rap gank where every damn nook and cranny
Plus four more opponents couldn't throw me, couldn't slam me
I told you before, this is war, it's radical claw
Menate the the law, practice my ambition
Understand determination, plus my burnin condition
Rebuild 'em, sing a song strong for disaster
Scorch 'em on a letter, clever, bled 'em much faster
Exotic lens, bionic Timb's, hardco' organic
The floor panic when revolvin, Shaolin dodgin
Potion of my juice, it's "Houston we have a problem"
Its Basic Instinct, motor mouth, hold is sacred
The Rushmore Rock Face, one four shot with the greatness
Raw shoulders, sword colder, no remorse
The crash course, the portions of my Porsche
Divorse it, the Holocaust exhaust, driven with force
Mighty ship back on course, I almost lost it
Toss the smokin corpse, seldom sing
Shells amongst men, rebellion, teens formin and swarmin
Vikin style, strikin without warnin a nation
Standin ovation, rap devastation
New animation, the scandal
Bandle the best part, damsel in distress, I'll bless you
God damn you! To the rescue
[Chorus]
